Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Splicer collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Splicer application and related services.

Last updated: August 15, 2026

Overview

Splicer (“Splicer”, “we”, “us”) provides an automated pipeline that discovers, edits, subtitles, renders, quality-checks, and distributes short-form video. This policy describes the data we handle to deliver those functions.

We collect only what we need to operate the service, and we process third-party platform data solely to perform actions you authorize. We do not sell your personal information.

Account information

When you create a Splicer account or request access, we collect basic account information, which may include:

  • Name and email address.
  • Organization or business name and role, where you provide it.
  • Account settings and preferences, such as your configured sources, schedules, and output options.
  • Support communications you send to us, and records of those exchanges.

We use this information to authenticate you, provide and maintain the service, respond to requests, and send service-related notices.

OAuth authentication

Splicer uses OAuth to connect to third-party platform accounts that you choose to link. When you authorize a connection:

  • You are redirected to the platform’s own login and consent screen. Splicer never sees or stores your platform password.
  • The platform issues Splicer access and refresh tokens scoped to the specific permissions you approve. We store these tokens in encrypted form and use them only to perform the actions you have authorized.
  • We request the minimum scopes required for the features you enable, such as publishing content to a connected account.
  • You can revoke Splicer’s access at any time from the third-party platform’s account or security settings, or by contacting us. Once revoked, we stop using the tokens and delete them from active use.

Platform APIs

To move content through the pipeline and publish it, Splicer communicates with third-party platform APIs on your behalf. Through these APIs we may access:

  • Basic profile and channel details needed to identify the connected account and confirm publishing eligibility.
  • Content you direct us to upload, along with associated metadata such as titles, captions, and scheduling details.
  • Status and result information returned by the platform after an upload or publish action.

We access platform data only to provide Splicer’s features at your direction, and we handle it in accordance with the applicable platform’s developer terms and policies. Splicer is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any third-party platform.

Uploaded & generated media

The core of the service involves processing video and related media. This includes:

  • Source and uploaded media you provide or connect, which Splicer analyzes to discover and edit clips.
  • Generated media that Splicer produces, including edited cuts, subtitles and transcripts, rendered video files, and quality-check results.
  • Derived data used during processing, such as transcripts, timing data, and technical metadata.

We process this media to provide the pipeline’s functions. We do not use your media to build or train models for unrelated purposes, and we do not share it except as needed to deliver the service (for example, publishing to a platform you connect) or as required by law.

Analytics

We collect limited usage and performance analytics to operate, secure, and improve Splicer, such as:

  • Product usage events, feature interactions, and aggregate pipeline metrics.
  • Diagnostic and error logs, along with basic device and browser information.

We use analytics in aggregate to understand reliability and performance. Where analytics data can identify you, we treat it in line with this policy. We do not sell analytics data.

Data security

We apply administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit and at rest.
  • Encrypted storage of OAuth tokens and other sensitive credentials.
  • Access controls that limit internal access to personal data and platform data on a need-to-know basis.
  • Monitoring, logging, and regular review of our systems and practices.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and to respond promptly to any incident that affects it.

Retention & deletion

We retain personal data, media, and tokens for as long as needed to provide the service and for legitimate business or legal purposes. When you disconnect a platform, delete content, or close your account, we delete or de-identify the associated data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us using the details below.
